disPLAY, 2011 - 2012
disPLAY was a collaborative project that aimed to inspire a positive interaction between the street artist and those who utilize the streets for myriad of other purposes. The frames could be removed without a trace by anyone for any purpose. The lack of permanence and the ambiguity of subject matter give power to those who view the frames. In its essence, graffiti typically instigates a power play. What is art to the person wielding the can of spray paint may be considered vandalism by others. disPLAY sought to remove the aspect of graffiti that forces others to reckon with the street artist and made no attempt to exert our power upon augment property.
